I've been avoiding t.v. for many of the past months except for PBS, but tonight I turned on "Dancing with the Stars" and was delighted to see the ever glamorous Jane Seymour do a delicious tango with her partner Tony. It was all the more poignant for the fact that Ms. Seymour's mum had just passed away and the dance was dedicated to her. Seymour was all elegance in a short bob wig reminiscent of her turn as Lady Ashley in the t.v. mini-series from the 80's "The Sun Also Rises" (Hart Bochner anyone?). She starred in so many of my favorite mini series in the 1980's and who can forget "Somewhere in Time," with Christopher Reeve? It was panned by critics but became almost an instant cult classic. I had the soundtrack in my early 20's and would play it over and over again on lonely nights when I came home from a career I hated and longed for a boy who wasn't ready for me.
It was lovely to see her looking as gorgeous as ever and I had a nice time meandering around IMBb remembering her movies.
